The Boulder County Sheriff's Office was alerted to the fire at 12:44 p.m. Though the roughly 80-year-old barn, at 6300 Hygiene Road, was destroyed, firefighters from Hygiene, Lyons, Lefthand Canyon and Longmont were able to quickly control and extinguish the fire, Boulder County Sgt. Troy Wolf said.
