Audio: Dispatch recording from Colorado State Patrol trooper shooting

An edited recording of scanner traffic between 9:07 and 9:18 a.m. Thursday when Colorado State Trooper Eugene Hofacker, 31, was shot along Interstate 70 in Glenwood Canyon by a motorist he stopped to assist. Another trooper who was with Hofacker then shot and killed the motorist, identified as Thomas Ornelas, 40. This recording has been edited to remove other scanner traffic and dead air. …
