Colorado Springs police are investigating after a dog was shot dead in a park on Monday. It happened shortly before 6 p.m. in Penstemon Park, on Jet Wing Cir. Police say the dog was off leash and approached a man walking by the park. The man then fired several shots at the dog, killing it. The man ran away before police arrived.
