Former Scarborough boys hockey standout Jake Rutt, a defenseman, closed out his college career with the UMO Black Bears this year, having seen icetime in 120 games, during which he scored nine goals and 23 assists. Now, he’s moving on to a still-bigger stage: Rutt recently signed with the Idaho Steelheads, an East Coast Hockey League affiliate of the Texas Stars (AHL) and the Dallas Stars (NHL).
