Penned from the hand of King David himself, he writes from a place of joy and praise for the deliverance God has given him from his suffering. Sometimes God delivers us by keeping us from any real harm. He may allow us to be bruised by afflictions, but he will not allow us to be broken beyond repair. Listen to the great preacher Charles Spurgeon’s words regarding Psalm 34, “David had come off with kicks and cuffs, but no broken bones. No substantial injury occurs to the saints...
