Day 19 of our 40 Day Bible Challenge: Psalm 34 In every experience of our own, no matter how deep the pain or how great the frustration or how exhilarating the joy, we can find Psalm 34 a psalm that God uses to bring comfort or even to confirm release, a psalm that has the potential to echo our inmost being. Penned from the hand of King David himself, he writes from a place of joy and praise for the deliverance God has given him from his suffering. Sometimes God delivers us by keeping us from any real harm. He may allow us to be bruised by afflictions, but he will not allow us to be broken beyond repair. Listen to the great preacher Charles Spurgeon’s words regarding Psalm 34, “David had come off with kicks and cuffs, but no broken bones. No substantial injury occurs to the saints... Their real self is safe; they may have flesh-wounds, but no part of the essential fabric of their beings shall be broken”. by ccdnvr
