Trooper shot, suspect killed in Glenwood Canyon

A trooper with the Colorado State Patrol who had stopped to assist a motorist was shot in Glenwood Canyon on Thursday morning, and the suspect was then killed by another trooper, authorities said. Trooper Eugene Hofacker, a six-year veteran, was listed in critical but stable condition at Valley View Hospital after undergoing emergency surgery. read more
