The use of medical marijuana has been legal in Louisiana since 1992. Despite that little-known fact, no doctors have been able to prescribe it to relieve the effects of chemotherapy for cancer patients, to relieve the symptoms of glaucoma or to stop seizures in children with otherwise uncontrollable epilepsy.
