'Penicillin Girl' Genean Hixon dies 70 years after participating in medical breakthrough
Genean Hixon, whose breakthrough treatment as one of the first American civilians to be treated with penicillin during World War II led to modern medical practices, died March 1, just shy of her 83rd birthday.
