COLORADO SPRINGS — As the Berthoud football team kneeled at midfield to listen to first-year head coach Troy Diffendaffer put a final note on the season after being shut out 41-0 by Discovery Canyon in the first round of the 3A state football playoffs, Diffendaffer sounded anything but disappointed.
