Rockies, Cubs both bat their pitcher in 8th spot

Rockies manager Walt Weiss and Cubs manager Joe Maddon each batted their pitchers eighth for the Rockies' home opener Friday. It marked the first time both pitchers started out of the nine-hole since July 13, 2008.
