Left-hander Joe Beimel, Rangers agree to $1.5 million deal

Left-hander Joe Beimel and the Texas Rangers have agreed to a $1.5 million, one-year contract. Beimel, 37, was 3-1 with a 2.20 ERA in 56 relief appearances last season with Seattle and held left-handed hitters to a .188 batting average. He attended spring training with the Rangers in 2012, had a 4.50 ERA and was released.
